First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes…wait! What about wedding planning?

The stress of wedding planning can be overwhelming, to say the least. Everything is in the details, and there are SO many details to work through!

From wedding invitations to dress shopping to vendor selection and more, we fully understand how much work goes into wedding planning. As full-time planners, we also understand the toll that wedding planning can take on your sanity if you don’t take a few moments to breathe. It’s crucial that you find time for yourself to rest, relax, and recover by doing little things to help you unwind.

We asked our CBU pros how they get their R & R after a long day, and here’s what they suggest:

  • Drink more water.
They say that 8 glasses of water a day is the magic number needed to keep you hydrated, happy and healthy. Most people don’t drink nearly as much water as they should! Keep yourself hydrated to improve your sleep quality, increase your energy levels, and keep you feeling strong and confident for the big day.
  • Try to relax.
It’s difficult to relax when you have so much on your plate, but finding time to unwind will make all the difference for you on your wedding planning journey! Set aside a few moments a day to do whatever comforts and calms you. Try meditating and deep breathing, read a book, or take a bubble bath with your favorite candle and a glass of wine!
  • Get a massage.
Stress not only affects your mental wellbeing but also your physical wellbeing! Did you know that stress can lead to increased muscle tension that you may not even realize you’re carrying? Hire a professional to work out those knots which will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
  • Splurge on a mani/pedi.
Treat yourself to a day of pampering with a mani/pedi at your favorite spa. Whether you choose to go alone for a few hours of peace and quiet, or take your I-Do crew along for a memorable spa day event, you’ll surely feel revitalized and eager to tackle those next items on your To-Do list.
  • Sleep more.
This one can be tough. We all have so much going on, and our lives are hectic. Let’s be honest – unplugging and getting enough sleep just isn’t as high on our list of priorities as it probably should be. But do it! Unplug. Switch your phone to silent, crawl into bed, put on your favorite movie, and get your beauty sleep! Let your body recover and give yourself a chance to reset so that you’ll be energized and ready for anything each and every day.
  • Exercise.
Whatever you like to do to exercise — do it! Take a yoga class, go for a run, practice your boxing, or hop in the pool for a swim! Get your body moving and give your mind a break. Plus, the endorphin boost will also boost your mood!

Taking moments for yourself and setting aside time to do the things you love is such an important step as you continue to practice self-care. It’s okay to pump the brakes every now and then! And don’t forget — your Planning Executive is here to help along the way.
